ASK: Organize and execute a hackathon aimed at empowering women and nonbinary students in technology while creating an inclusive and inspiring environment.

PROBLEM: The tech industry still struggles with a lack of diversity and representation, particularly for women and nonbinary individuals.

INSIGHT: Fostering creativity and non-conformity within underrepresented groups helps redefine the tech industry's future.

STRATEGY: Design a bold and innovative event that inspires participants through branding, community-building, and hands-on experience with technology.

SOLUTION: SharkHack: A student-run hackathon at Simmons University focused on diversity, inclusion, and empowerment in tech.

WORK: Over two years, I directed the event’s organization, logistics, and branding. The 2024 branding, a vibrant blend of purple and neon green, challenged traditional tech aesthetics and embodied innovation and creativity. This unique approach celebrated diversity and stood out as a highlight of the event's success.
